Tout simplement

Introduction

excerpt of the booklet of Tout simplement

Joy in life. This world abounds in Beauty. This world conceals a striking Beauty. Like a dazzled butterfly, I would like to take part of this Beauty. The means that I chose is the music. Because it is for me the most judicious. Since it makes it possible to arouse and to recognize the Beautiful. I am happy while taking part of the Beauty: into blowing in the horn and being with my human brothers. It imports me, to achieve my life, to propagate my joy, and to make it sow others. As it is sown itself on other occasions.

Tout simplement is a wager. It is the feeling which I would like to reach and cause. Sometimes, when I listen to the music of the Masters of jazz, I can hear myself comment some of their phrases this way : "simply". At the same time, it is a manner of mockery, since obviously, this music is still far from this simplicity.

In general, these pieces result from drifts at the time of the instrumental practice: one forgets oneself or one is mistaken, and it leaves an interesting idea there. This idea generates an impression which should be explored and from which one builds the music. The comes a phase of shaping, development, search still, and also of treason of the original impression. I try to preserve an oginial approach, in any case not-restrictive, for the harmonic and rhythmic aspects in particular. Finally... the things are made as one is.
